MBA offers strictly Group Term life insurance coverage; therefore, there is no cash or loan value to any of our plans.
MBA's only company affiliation is with our insurance carrier, Government Personnel Mutual Life Insurance Company. MBA is not affiliated with any other companies or associations. If you also purchased a savings/annuity plan when signing up for MBA, please check your records and contact the appropriate company directly with questions regarding their plan.
MBA takes pride in serving our Service Members and their families. Therefore, there is no aviation or war clause. This means the full death benefit would be payable if the death were caused by an act of war or military aircraft accident.
Yes, in full.
To make payments over the phone, please contact our Accounts Receivable department at 1-800-336-0100. Online payments will be accepted in the near future.
Members and dependents have a conversion privilege to an individual policy of life insurance with GPM, as explained in the certificate of insurance. If you have any questions regarding this privilege, please contact the office of the MBA Marketing Director at 1-800-458-3087.
A change in duty status does not affect your coverage as long as consecutive payments are received for the coverage. Please ensure that your premium will continue to be paid even though your military allotment might have stopped.
Simply review the plans on our website and complete the appropriate application. You will need to sign and currently date the completed application and mail it to MBA. Proof of eligibility may be requested by our underwriter.
You have the option to list as many people to receive the death benefit as you see fit. You will just need to list them on the form and return it to us for recording. If your beneficiary designation does not fit on the form provided, you may attach a separate sheet of paper ensuring that you have also signed and dated that sheet of paper. You may access these forms on our website and return them to us ensuring that you have signed and currently dated the forms and that your signature has been witnessed by someone other than a named beneficiary.
Note: while you have the option to list as many beneficiaries as you wish, naming more than one may slow down the processing phase of the claim.
